Emily Hemmeke – Landscape Designer
emily@meadow-green.com
With 10 years of experience designing custom residential and commercial landscapes, Emily Hemmeke has been involved with projects ranging from a simple front yard landscape to 20-acre estates. Emily enjoys using the landscape to bring different elements of a home or business together with its surroundings, whether that means designing walkways and patios, incorporating a pool into the backyard, building retaining walls or providing plantings that complement the home or business. She looks forward to each new project as a challenge with a unique solution.
Emily has had a love for plants and the outdoors from an early age, so when deciding on a college, she chose Michigan State University exploring their well-respected landscape architecture program. It was a perfect fit. A career designing landscapes has given Emily the opportunity to combine her desire to work as a joyful professional following her passion of plants with working with nature to create new and beautiful works of art.
Emily graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. She has spent time in England and surrounding countries studying landscape history, English cottage gardens and other aspects of landscape design. She has contributed locally by volunteering her services as Fredrick Meijer Gardens and being involved in community programs such as the Our Street Program in Holland.
